But I think they're using those little "cut-offs" when they are starting & finishing stitching on other blocks. So if you have triangles, you can be sewing HSTs while you're doing other things. I suppose then you toss 'em in a container & make blocks with them later. You could just sew any shapes together too - like the 15 minute free-piecing stuff.
